End of January

All right - finally managed to get a 5 day school week in!!!! American government has continued to work on Missouri Constitution preparation and that test is set for TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1. Remember it takes a 70% or higher to meet the graduation requirement. We will spend the rest of next week on basic principles of government. Study guides have been passed out for Tuesday's test and all assignments have been graded and returned for use in studying.

IB PSYCHO'S will be running their IA experiments in a variety of classrooms next week. We have continued our study of Health Psychology - primarily focusing in on addictions this week. That will temporarily go on hold next week as there will be a lot of folks out of class conducting IA's. Remember they are due on March 1, 2011.

Sociology II has continued to look at the social conflict paradigm related to education. We will move on into the symbolic interaction paradigm next week. Novel day #3 will be on Wednesday, February 2. Quiz and assignment #3 will be due on that day. Also don't forget the Education unit projects are due on Friday, February 4. All students will make a class presentation that day.

Second Semester

Greetings! Second semester is well on its way, at least trying to around the winter weather and we are working on a variety of things in class.

American Government students are working on their Missouri Government unit which will end with their Mo. Constitution Exam. We had hoped to be done with this by the end of January, stay tuned for the exact test date.

Sociology II students are working on the Education Unit. They have been assigned the unit project due on February 4. There are two options - one individual and one with a partner. They are also reading the novel, There are no Children Here and have quizzes scheduled for the next four Wednesday's. Don't procrastinate on any of the reading or project work. The novel project is due on February 16.

IB Psycho's are working fast and furious on their Internal Assessment. The experiments are scheduled to be completed within the next three weeks. It is important that I have copies of your informed consent today!! Email that to me if you didn't have it on time. Likewise, we are slowly working on Health Psychology as a review topic from first semester and a way to introduce the Abnormal Unit which will be our big one for this semester! Remember snow days are not your friend right now - so don't get behind!!

Have a great week and I hope second semester is even better than first for all of you!
